The manager admits the team "needed the victory so bad" and he wants to win fans back
Fernando Vazquez was smiling today after his team romped to victory by such a landslide against Huesca. "Football has finally redeemed us - it was high time. It gives us calm. We are very pleased with the result. Victory suits us and gives us confidence. I am happy for the players and for the fans. We will have a more relaxed week - we needed that too".
The manager remember that the team, so far, has performed quite well at times, "we have controlled so many games, created chances but not converting - today we did." The manager said he hasn't felt the heat of a possible firing. He went back into match analysis, "we opted for a more direct game, instead of sideways progression, without losing possession." For him the "first half was perfect. We had that spark, and that disarmed Huesca" Then we did give the ball away but defended properly".
Finally, Vazquez confessed that he has the hope of "winning fans back and I keep believing in promotion. Next game v Levante it's an opportunity to say here we are, although first comes the Cup tie v Murcia. We are not going to give the cup away. I will field a strong side because our objective is to go through", he concluded.
