Vazquez: “disappointed with the scored, not with the team"

Northern gaffer hails ball control but regrets lack of finishing touch

Fernando Vazquez has met the press after RCD Mallorca's defeat to the Rayo Vallecano and has expressed his frustration "with the result, because it is a tough one, but not with the team" because in his opinion "we are playing well, controlling the games withouth much hassle, yet we lack that necessary finishing touch". The manager admits in this sense that the problem that is keeping the team from gaining points is the "lack of definition. The final stage of a goal is one of the technical capabilities of players. I do not give up and I trust the team to start scoring soon".

At the press insistence on the scoring front, he stated "we are who we are and we got to find the solutions among the group - not outside. We have great personality - rivals are unable to create many chances against us". The Galician conceded that at psychological level "it is tough for the group to see how rivals are slipping away in games and in the table. Let us give us some confidence margin, but it is clear that if we keep not scoring we are going to have to change the strategy".

The manager pointed out that the result, given the game seen and the chances from both teams does not seem a fair one, "although they did score and we did not, on that front there is nothing we can say" and guaranteed that this issue will be solved. "The scoring comes from runds".

Lastly, the recognized that despite the goals set, "it is not a terrific start to the campaign, rather the opposite" although he did play it down, "right now there is no promoted or relegated team. There is some much competition left".
