Sergi Darder, Gio González and Javier Aguirre analyse the 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid

Find out what the trio had to say post-match in the capital

Sergi Darder, Gio González and Javier Aguirre were on post-match media duties to share their thoughts after our 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid. Find out what the trio had to say.

Sergi Darder

"In many moments we are competing as well as or better than our opponents. Defensively speaking, the game was very complicated and the team was spectacular. The effort was very good, but this is first division and the areas make the difference.

"Now we have three games at home where we can't drop any points and I think Wednesday's game could be a before and after in the season.

"A draw today, it's true that it could have been fair. It's true that they dominated the game, but that's what we had planned.”

Gio González

"We felt we did a good job but we didn't win any prizes. Unfortunately football is won with goals and we are not scoring them and this is the main difference with our rivals.

"This is resolved in details as it happened today. They put a ball in our area and it was a goal. We had a chance and we didn't convert it. I can't find any other way to solve this than by working hard.”

Javier Aguirre

"It's a very complicated place. Nobody has taken anything here. I think they were superior in some parts of the match. We didn't play a perfect game. When you make an individual mistake or a marking error, you become condemned.

"There are three finals left to play and we hope to have a first half of the season with some points that will give us hope for the second half.”
