Salva Sevilla believes our winless run of form away from home this season can end at his former side Real Betis on Friday evening.

Having made over 100 appearances for Los Verdiblancos during a four-year spell in Andalusia, the midfielder says there will be no sentimentality as he prioritises an important three points.

“It’s a special game but the situation we're in doesn’t allow us to give anything away,” he told journalists at his pre-match press conference. “I want to concentrate on having a good game and taking points which we need. We've had a very bad run away from home and it’s time to end that.

“We need to add points and I think that in many games we've deserved it. We want to have a good game, we know where we are going - it's a difficult team and with good players, but I believe that this is the moment to change this dynamic and add three points away from home.”

Despite missing a first-half penalty in a 1-0 overcoming of Deportivo Alavés at Son Moix on the previous matchday, the 35-year-old is keen to repay our fans’ unwavering support by accumulating further wins.

“It was important to add points in front of Alavés," he said. "Every time less games await us, the margin for error is very short and it was an important game against Alavés. I’m thankful that the fans have this detail with me, with the team as well, because in the situation that we're in, they don’t stop supporting this team. The support they give us is fundamental in a moment so difficult, and that’s something not all fans do."
