Salva Sevilla and Antonio Raíllo reflect on our win over Girona FC

The goalscorer and defender spoke to media after an important three points away from home

Salva Sevilla and Antonio Raíllo were on post-match interview duties to reflect upon our 1-0 win over Girona FC. The former’s goal in the fifth minute of the game proved to be decisive on a thoroughly contested night at Estadi Montilivi as we stretched our unbeaten run to 11 games. Find out what the pair had to say about our performance, the hosts' ruled out equaliser and what awaits us below:

On the game...

Salva Sevilla: “We’ve got three points against a difficult team. We have done what we needed to do and I’m very pleased. Girona is a top team. We had control at first, they closed us off later on. In the rule out goal I saw a clear push and the VAR was right.”

Antonio Raíllo: “It has been a hard-fought game and very competitive. We have had to suffer and I’m very peleased with the win. They have come at us and we came at them. We managed to score early and we have done our game.”

On what is to come...

Salva Sevilla: “This team knows how to suffer and we have got where we want to be. We are on a good path. We cannot relax though as this is a very long league and ahead of us now are a lot of tough teams. We have to continue along this way of working.

Antonio Raíllo: “It’s too early to look at the table. We have to think now about Sporting Gijón and go match-by-match to continue like this. We have a great team and we have to go on like this.”
