Pedro Rostoll: ‘The team deserved the win’

The assistant manager reflected on our 2-1 win against CD MIrandés in a post-match press conference

Assistant Pedro Rostoll couldn’t hide his delight as we overcame CD MIrandés 2-1 at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. With the suspended Luis García Plaza watching on from the stands, Abdón Prats and an own goal either side of half-time ensured we put an end to our winless run of form. Find out what the boss had to say below:

On the match...

"It was a very difficult and complicated match. We are very happy. The team has worked, fought hard and deserved a result like this".

"The match has been evenly matched in which there have been moments where CD Mirandés have been dangerous, but the team has been ordered and worked hard in defence. The players needed to look for that security. We were together and when we were able to get loose, that's when we hurt them the most. Defensively we played a very good game.

"The goals weren't the best, but the players looked for it and wanted it. We were a bit fortunate, but also because of the team's insistence and desire.

"Mentally, the team needed other things to happen. We were aware of the game we were going to play. In the end, fortunately, everything went well. Let's hope that this is a boost for the team.

On the team's position...

"If the coach doesn't usually make calculations, I like them even less. I have never liked to make numbers because football is unpredictable. We will have to make eight points, but I like to go week by week.

"Missing what is missing and being as we are. When what happened to you in those two matches, it affects you mentally. This victory is wonderful for the minds to calm down and face what's left with optimism. We are all very happy.

"I've had the nerves very similar to other matches. I'm a person who doesn't get very nervous about these things."
