Abdon Prats’ dramatic winner gives us our first three points of 2023
We registered our first win of the new year courtesy of a winner from Abdón Prats as we beat Real Valladolid 1-0 at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.
Both teams struggled to find their rhythm during the opening exchanges as neither side were able to create any opportunities in the final third beyond an early opportunity for Dani Rodríguez in the sixth minute.
We headed into the break with little to show for our efforts as we struggled to make any headway past the visitors’ resolute defence.
Baba was inches away from giving us the lead with a header which went over the bar in the 55th minute.
The visitors’ best chance of the game came in the 62nd minute when Kike Pérez hit the woodwork from inside the box.
Abdón scored a dramatic winner in injury time when he climbed highest in the box to meet Kang In-Lee’s free-kick and head home.
