Match Report: RCD Espanyol 2-1 RCD Mallorca Juvenil A

Goals from Carlos Alemán and Aleix Grabulosa either side of half-time ends our Copa del Rey run

Miguel Susarte’s goal in added time was too little, too late as our Copa del Rey run came to a frustrating end as we fell to a 2-1 defeat at RCD Espanyol.

We had the better start during the opening exchanges and should have taken an early lead in the 11th minute when Luis Ramis fired over the bar from close range.

We were eventually punished for an inability to take our early chances as Carlos Alemán struck on the stroke of half-time to give the hosts the lead.

Despite coming close to levelling matters after the restart, the hosts doubled their lead in the 57th minute when Obeng teed up Aleix Grabulosa who made no mistake from close range.

Susarte pulled a goal back in injury time courtesy of some tireless pressing, but it was too little too late as full time went moments later.
