Martin Valjent, Amath and Dani Rodríguez reflect on our loss to UD Almería

Find out what the trio had to say about our 3-0 defeat

Martin Valjent, Amath and Dani Rodríguez faced up to the media after our 3-0 defeat to UD Almería. Lázaro’s hat-trick for the hosts condemned us to a frustrating afternoon at the Power Horse Stadium. Find out what the trio had to say below:

Martin Valjent

"I think their first goal influenced us a lot in the game because we were looking to press and to steal the ball. I don't think we weren't convincing in any area. We gave an image that we don't like at all and that can't be repeated in these three remaining matches.

"We didn't want to play a game like that. We were physically good. Two rebounds have been two goals with three shots on goal and we go 2-0 at halftime and we didn't know how to react. We will try to do better in the next game at home. The team wants to finish the season well, we don't want a game like this to tarnish things."

Amath

"We came out to the game very well, but then they had two chances to score and both went in. The match got complicated for us. We tried to make up the result in the second half and it wasn't possible. We conceded the third goal and we were knocked out. We fought until the end, but the goals didn't come. Now we have to forget this match and think about Thursday's game at home with our fans, where we will go for the three points.

"We have not been at the level we had to be. We have to keep working."

Dani Rodríguez

"It wasn't our day. We have not been at the level of a LaLiga match. It can't happen again at the end of the season. The image is always important.

"The beauty of football is that you always have a chance a few days later and we want to play a good game in front of our fans to make up for today's match.”
