Manolo Reina: ‘We’re going to be a difficult opposition’

The goalkeeper looked ahead to our clash away to Real Sociedad in his pre-match press conference

Manolo Reina believes the second half of every campaign is always more difficult, but RCD Mallorca are up to the challenge - starting with Real Sociedad this Sunday.

Having suffered a 1-0 defeat home to the Basque side in August, the shot stopper says the side are keen to avenge the defeat as the season’s finale commences.

“In order to stay up we have to improve our numbers away from home and to do that we are working,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “Real Sociedad are a very good team and we have to do things well to score there, but we need to do that.

"The second half of the season is always more difficult and we are going to be an even more difficult team. Every game is like a final for us, we are playing a l lot in everything and we have to face every game like it was the last."

A 4-1 victory over Valencia CF last weekend saw us get out of the relegation zone and end a winless run of six games, but Reina says the dressing room must maintain belief and form.

“This is the first division and you can go two months without winning, but we have to keep our calm, knowing that we are a team and that we are doing things in order to fight there until the last moment.”
