The goalkeeper spoke to journalists following the extension of his contract and gave an insight into our pre-season preperations
Manolo Reina says he feels right at home following his recent two-year contract extension at the club.
The goalkeeper will remain in red and black until the 30th of June 2022, and having already made over a century of appearances since signing for us three years ago, has revealed his desire to remain at the Visit Mallorca Estadi for the forseeable future.
“It’s an honour to be able to continue wearing this shirt,” he said at a remotely-held press conference. “I feel very loved here. The truth is that it has been very easy to reach an agreement for the renewal of my contract."
With pre-season preparations in full swing under new manager Luis García, the shot-stopper says he and his team-mates have been hard at work to ensure they are in the best form possible for when the upcoming Segunda División campaign begins despite strict COVID-19 protocol.
"He's a high technician and a great coach,” he continued. “We have to work hard to show him that we all want to play. It's going to be a tough year, but we have to build a foundation to compete in the best way possible.
"We continue to train under a strict health protocol. The truth is, it has all been a little strange for us, but we're adapting. Gradually we’re getting to know those players who came from other clubs and have the aim of being a strong team."
