Luis García Plaza: ‘You have to enjoy the journey and savour each victory’
The boss spoke to the media ahead of our clash with FC Cartagena in his pre-match press conference
Luis García Plaza says his side must maintain their four-point cushion in our fight for promotion ahead of our clash with FC Cartagena at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.
Heading into Matchday 28 as league leaders, the boss is wary of hosting a side which has lost just once in its previous five games.
“We have to try to ensure what we get out of the game a game doesn't diminish so that we have the cushion others don't have,” he told journalists. "FC Cartagena have changed because their team has changed, players have arrived and if they had started the championship in January, they would be in mid-table.
“They have five, six or seven starters who weren't there before. It's a different team. They are going to be safe without any problems. They are no longer the team that was struggling. Rubén Castro is going to keep scoring goals even from the sofa - he's a genius, he has a gift.”
Unbeaten so far this season away from home, the boss believes it is the utmost importance enjoy the football they are playing.
“The away numbers are not normal, at home we are the fifth team and we are not a ruin. Maybe, in both cases, the lack of fans has an influence. The goals come after a journey and you have to enjoy it if you are winning, savour each victory and enjoy it to the maximum.”
