Luis García Plaza: ‘Our idea is to be intense, but we have missed that necessary trait tonight’
The boss gave his thoughts on our 1-0 defeat to FC Barcelona at the Visit Mallorca Estadi
Luis García Plaza gave his thoughts to the media after our 1-0 defeat to FC Barceona at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. Luuk de Jong scored the only goal of the game moments before the first half as we staged a late push to try and draw level. Find out what the boss had to say below:
On the match…
"We lacked personality in order to be more aggressive at the beginning. We have to learn that we can't play like we did in the first 45 minutes. After that we were the team we want to be, but they scored and we didn't.
"We respect Barcelona like any other team, but no more than that. Our idea was to be intense, but we lacked that necessary trait. And that's what I said at half-time: I didn't like the image we were giving.”
On Ter Stegen's save…
"He hadn't been at his best for a few games but he had to choose the day. He made an incredible save because at the end of the day they have great players who have the ability to bounce back.”
