Leo Román: I feel immense happiness

The goalkeeper has been named in the previsionary squad for the under-21 European Championship

Leo Román says he could not be any happier having been included in the previsionary squad list for the under-21 European Championship.

The goalkeeper is on the 27-player squad lsit selected by manager Santi Denia ahead of the tournament taking place from June 21 to July 8 in Georgia and Romania.

"The truth is that I feel immense happiness,” Leo Roman told club media. “I think it is the dream of every child, which in the end comes true after a lot of work and a lot of effort. It is something very nice, that in the end you have to enjoy and live the moment. I have to make the most of it,"

Our shot stopper will first face Mexico Under-21s in a friendly game once with his international team-mates and will join Kepa Agirrezabala (Athletic de Bilbao) and Arnau Tenas (Fútbol Club Barcelona) in Madrid.

"They are two goalkeepers with an incredible level. And they are also two great people, we get along very well with each other. I'm delighted to be on the list with them.

"I think we have a great team with many opportunities, as it is also true that there are other teams with tremendous potential, but in the end everything will be decided in details."

The Spain Under-21s sits in group B, with Romania, Ukraine and Croatia and will play their first game against the tournament hosts on Wednesday, June 21.
