We are delighted to announce that Jaume Costa has renewed his contract until 2024.
The defender has made 61 appearances for the club having arrived in 2021 and was an ever-present figure this season.
"I am very happy because Mallorca is a place where I have got accustomed to very quickly,” he told club media. “Culturally it is very similar to my homeland, Valencia.
“When I came here I dreamed of being here for two years at a good level, last year it cost a little more because of the adaptation, but this year I think I'm going on holiday very happy and above all having extended my contract for another year. I hope to continue giving my best.”
"The main objective was to keep us in the First Division for another year, but above all to try not to suffer as much as last year. We have achieved that. With four games to go staying up, I think it's a very commendable achievement.
“From then on, we wanted to compete until the end of the season to see where we could get to. We have reached ninth place. We were just one step away from being able to make Mallorca history, but we always have to keep our feet on the ground and our heads cool, and know where we come from and who we are.
"To have years like this year, you have to work very hard and very well.”
