The winger evaluated our chances of survival ahead of the 11 remaining games which await us in La Liga
Lago Junior believes “hard work and humility” holds the key to achieving La Liga survival in the remaining 11 games which await us after over two months of suspended fixtures.
One point away from safety and sitting in 18th position prior to the enforced break, the winger says the team are leaving nothing to chance ahead of a return to competitive football - starting with FC Barcelona on June 13th.
“We’re doing our best to arrive in the best condition possible,” he said. “Physically we’re doing very well. We’re going to compete as we’ve done so far this season and in some way we’re almost going to face a kind of second mini league. Our dream is to stay up in the Primera División. With work and humility, I’m sure that we’re going to achieve that.”
"We’re enjoying training again as a group, and we’re looking forward to the return of the league in order to compete again. After so long, we’ve missed stepping out at Son Moix. The first day of training there, we played a game between us and it’s going to be a bit like that when we play without our fans there. We’re going to notice the absence of people, but we have to get used to it.”
