Lago Junior: ‘We want to start adding points’

The winger spoke to the media in his pre-match press conference ahead of our clash with RCD Espanyol

Lago Junior says he and his team-mates have their eyes firmly set on recording their first win of the season ahead of our trip to RCD Espanyol.

We will travel to the RCDE Stadium to face former manager Vicente Moreno’s side on Sunday afternoon for Matchday 2 of La Liga Smartbank, and our winger is keen to make amends for our opening day defeat to Rayo Vallecano.

"It's going to be a beautiful match against RCD Espanyol, he told journalists via a video press conference. “We’re motivated, especially after we lost the first game. We have to start adding [points] as soon as possible. They have a very good coach and players.

"I see a team that is invested [in fighting for promotion]. In the Segunda División there are very good teams and very good players, but we have to be calm as it’s only just begun."

Isi’s second-half strike saw us fall to a 1-0 loss on our campaign curtain raiser at the Visit Mallorca Estadi, although Lago Junior believes the team are heading in the right direction after the setback.

“The first half was evenly matched,” he continued. “It’s true that after the goal we lowered our arms a little. We weren't able to connect as a team. We have a lot to improve. If we’re going to compete well, we have to have humility, work together and be a unit.”
