Josep Señé: ‘Three points against Villarreal was the most important thing’

The midfielder spoke to the press following his debut for the club against the Yellow Submarines

Josep Señé says his debut in a 3-1 win over Villarreal was made all the more sweeter by helping the side secure an important three points.

The midfielder made his first appearance for the club as a second half substitute, but believes the team must build on their win once they return to La Liga action after the international break.

“We knew how difficult Villarreal can be,” he told journalists at a press conference. “We had to work and through that it was difficult. Those two goals from penalties helped us. When ever there is a break in the season it’s important to go into it with good feelings.

“We are doing things well and we are competing in every game. The team always goes to the maximum level, we must continue along this line.”

Arriving from Cultural Leonesa in the summer transfer window, Señé has had to overcome a difficult to injury to earn his place in Vincent Moreno’s starting XI.

“An injury isn’t good for any player,” he said. “Now I’m in the team’s dynamic and I’m happy to have got minutes the other day. There are a lot of us vying for the central midfield position.

“We are all working to earn a place in the team. We have to be prepared to play well. From the first day I have worked to play. I’m going to continue like that to get more minutes.”
