Dani Ribelles hits a hat-trick in Mallorca B’s 5-0 victory over U.D Collerense

The academy side extends its unbeaten run to 13 games with an emphatic win at Son Bibiloni despite heavy rain

Dani Ribelles scored a hat-trick while Thomas Giaquinto and Rober were on target in RCD Mallorca B’s comfortable 5-0 victory over C.D Collerense 5-0 at Son Bibiloni.

Following our late 1-0 victory over Manacor the previous weekend, Julián Robles rotated his side with the inclusion of David Alamo and Bangaly Diakhaby in addition to Ribelles’ first pairing with fellow centre forward Jaume Tovar.

Thomas Giaquinto – playing in an unfamiliar left back position - got the ball rolling in the 15th minute when his clever Cruyff turn inside the box afforded him ample time to pick his spot.

Maintained pressure would ultimately pay off in the 36th minute, and while visiting goalkeeper Adri Vich had got down well to deny Alamo his first goal for the club, he was powerless to stop Ribelles’ follow up.

A brief floodlighting issue at Son Bibiloni was the only remaining moment of note as we closed out the opening 45 minutes in the ascendancy and two goals to the good.

Despite a return of power, it was lights out for the visitors come the 50th minute as Diakhaby nodded Alamo’s cross into the path of Ribelles who made no mistake from a few yards out.

The striker completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute amid a downpour of rain, nodding home a teasing cross from a few yards out.

Rober opened his account for the campaign while rounding off the scoring with three minutes to spare, finishing an incisive counter-attack with a composed finish through the legs of an on-rushing Vich.

A deserved victory in adverse weather conditions ensured we preserved our unbeaten start to the season on matchday 12.
