Javier Aguirre: “We are prepared for whatever scenario”

The boss spoke to the media ahead of our hosting of Sevilla

Javier Aguirre says he does not expect any easy game against Sevilla ahead of our clash on Saturday evening.

As we look to get back to winning ways, the boss believes the Andalusian side pose a tough test and one which will require his team to adapt to whatever the visitors throw at us given they have only recently appointed a new manager.

"They have players of a very good level,” he told journalists at his pre-match press conference. “The coach has made rotations in these two games he has been manager. Nineteen players have played.

“The truth is that they have a very strong team in terms of names. There is no relation between the squad they have put together and the points they have in the league. We have to be an organised and united team – a side that doesn't let the rival breathe. I hope to continue on this upward trend with control of the ball.

Following an international break and heading ever closer to the first ever mid-season World Cup, Aguirre believes everyone will have a role to play ahead of what promises to be a hectic fixture schedule.

"I need everyone,” he continued. “We have four matches in a period of 15-16 days and they are very intense. No game gives you a break in the Spanish League. We will have to be up to the task and everyone will play. I have told them that. I have to have everyone plugged in, mentally strong and eager to participate.

"Llabrés is not available. Jaume may be available for the day of Valencia, he won't be in San Sebastián although he is already training with the team. Tino Kadewere is doing very well, he is already on the field. Hopefully it will be the same as with Galarreta and we will have him ahead of schedule.”
