Javier Aguirre: “I want to apologise for the game”

The boss gave his thoughts on our 6-2 defeat to Granada CF

Javier Aguirre shared his thoughts with the media after our 6-2 defeat to Granada CF at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. Find out what the boss had to say below:

On the match...

"Today was a disaster; I apologise to the fans. We were a team in the first half, but not in the second. I apologise on behalf of the entire club, coaching staff and players. We cannot offer such a pitiful image.

"We put our foot in our mouth. We were a competitive team in the first 45 minutes, with shortcomings, defects and virtues, but the second half was a total disaster.

"What happened is unbelievable, especially watching the first 45 minutes, where we outplayed Granada. But after that we were an unknown team. We conceded early and from then on, we got nervous.

It was a mess. It was one of those afternoons where you can't find an explanation. How is it possible that we forgot how to play in the second half?"

On what is next…

"It’s also true that we can't close the door and say it's over and that we won't fight anymore- far from it. We have to show ourselves, not put our heads in the sand. We have a tough match in Seville next. We still have nine points in dispute and we have to go for them.”
