Javier Aguirre: The difference was in the penalty areas

The boss reflected on our 3-2 defeat at Granada CF

Javier Aguirre was on post-match media duties after our 3-2 defeat to Granada CF. Abdón Prats and Samu Costa’s goals were not enough as Miguel Rubio, Bryan Zaragoza and Unzuni’s strikes saw us fall to a frustrating loss. Find out what the boss had to say below:

On the match

"I think we lacked accuracy in the area. Those two, hand to hand, with the goalkeeper; a penalty... it was a match which was not one to lose, but in the areas was the difference. They were better in the area than we were. In the first minute, we could have won 1-0, and then in the 46th minute they scored 2-1. So, these are very strong mental blows from which the team recovered and competed until the end.

On Muriqi

"In three games, two missed penalties. It's unbecoming of him, but that is football and we can't point fingers. Muriqi is a mentally strong guy. We love him very much and other occasions will come."
