The young attacker has signed a five-year contract
We are thrilled to welcome Jan Virgili to the club following an agreement with FC Barcelona on a contract which will run for the next five seasons until 30 June 2030.
Virgili arrives from FC Barcelona's academy system where he signed in the summer of 2024 from Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
The 19-year-old forward joined the Juvenil A team, with whom he has played in 33 matches, including league, UEFA Youth League and Copa del Rey games, scoring seven goals.
His performances led to him making his debut for Barça Atlètic on 25 January this year. From then on, Jan Virgili continued to play for the reserve team, making a total of 17 appearances (eight as a starter), with four goals and two assists.
The new Mallorcan signing started the summer in pre-season with FC Barcelona's first team and last week was a key player in the U-20 Intercontinental Cup final, in which he scored a goal. He also played in the U-19 European Championship with Spain.
Welcome, Jan!
Jan Virgili
"I'm very excited, eager to meet my teammates and, above all, to make my debut in LaLiga."
"I spoke with the coach, who gave me the confidence to come here and have opportunities. I hope to take advantage of them and win over the fans."
"I consider myself a fast player, one-on-one. I really like to take on opponents and get past them. If I can score goals, all the better, and if not, I'll look to set up my teammates."
"Yes, it was a match (the U-20 Intercontinental Cup final) that caused quite a stir. Above all, a lot of people were impressed by how I played. So I'm very happy and I'll try to do the same here in Mallorca."
"I've always looked up to Neymar because he's my idol, but there are also many young players who play very well, and I usually like to watch them all and learn a little from each of them to improve."
"I'm really looking forward to meeting my teammates. Tomorrow I'll finally meet them, and if I can make my debut at the Bernabéu, all the better."
