Jan Salas, who has jsut signed a new contract until 2029, tells us how his recovery has progressed, the conversation he had with Luis García, and his enthusiasm for achieving the goal of returning to the First Division.
You’ve been with the club for many years. How are you feeling and what does this new contract mean to you?
I’m very happy and grateful. I’ve been here practically my whole life and I’m happy and proud. I’ve grown up on these pitches over many years and I hope there are many more to come.
How is your recovery going?
The injury is healing perfectly. I’m feeling good, I’m already touching the ball and I’m making good progress. I don’t know yet how long it might take, but the important thing is to recover as soon as possible so I’m available to the manager as soon as possible.
How are things with Luis García?
I’ve spoken to him several times already. He’s encouraging me, he’s there for me, he’s very supportive, and I’m hoping to be back as soon as possible so I can help the team.
This season’s aim is to get back into the First Division. How are you approaching this new challenge?
We’ve set ourselves the aim of getting back into the First Division and I’m convinced we’ll achieve it. We’re all really keen and let’s see if we can achieve our goal of returning to the First Division – I’m sure we will.
