Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media ahead of our hosting of Alaves this Sunday. Find out what the boss had to say below:
On Samu Costa and Manu Morlanes: "We only have Mojica out through suspension, both Samu and Manu have trained normally. They'll be in the squad, they're available, which I think is great news."
On the current state of the team: "We seem to have put the bad patch behind us a little bit, we've been winning three games and we've got a good feeling. We have to continue like this. We have an important game on Sunday and if we continue to play well, or better, then we have more chances of winning."
On the importance of the match: "We're in the final third and it's very difficult to win, every victory is extremely valuable. We've just come from winning at home and drawing away in the last minute, to follow that up with a win at home, in front of our own fans, would be good in all aspects."
On the left-back: "There are no doubts, Toni Lato will play. Another thing is, if he doesn't finish the game, what options there are in that position. It's true that Martin is a good option, but Lato will start."
On Abdón Prats: ‘Abdón is a very important person in the history of Mallorca. For me he is a very important player from Monday to Sunday, he brings a lot to the dressing room.I have a plan depending on the match and depending on how it goes I understand that he can come in and out. In the end it's circumstances, tastes and moments. But for me he is an important player’.
On Deportivo Alavés: "We have looked at their game, especially in away games. In the last five they've only lost away at Montjuïc and by the minimum, so we know it's going to be a difficult game. They are in a bad dynamic, but at the end of the day, feeling that need is a virtue. We also have to feel that need, football is very evenly matched nowadays."
On an opponent that is fighting for relegation: "First of all, we have to respect the opponent, analyse them and, from there, bring out the good things we have. The team is generating chances, the offensive volume has been very high, we need to defend better. We haven't kept a clean sheet for a long time and that's one of the premises for winning this type of game. We know that in the second half you go all out. First we have to respect our opponents and then try to play a good game."
On looking to the future: "We give importance to what we have, to today's training session, to what we have done wrong and how to improve. People have to see that we can do things better, from there we focus on each match. We have to focus on each match, we have a very clear objective set by the club, when this is achieved we will have no qualms about talking about other things."
On the 11 against Sevilla FC: "It was just one change, but it was a big one because we played with a different formation and the game plan was different. I'm happy because I think we conceded less than we have been lately and in attack I think we had more chances, or more clear chances. As I said the other day, Rober is in a great moment and deserves to play. We are going to take advantage of all the players who are in a good moment. We're playing at home, it's a different game, with a different opponent and a different game plan. We have to make one change, Mojica, and I don't know if we'll make any more. Above all, we want to look like the game we played against Las Palmas, taking the initiative’.
On calculations: "No, I don't need a calculator. I know that if we win on Sunday it's three plus three, with three it's 38. I'm only thinking about Sunday, about winning."
On Mojica's condition: "He's been carrying a few niggles and this week that he's suspended we've taken the opportunity to manage them. But he's fine."
