We were unlucky to be held to a goalless draw against Real Oviedo at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere as the hosts finished the game with nine men.
Jagoba Arrasate opted for Vedat Muriqi as the lone centre forward while Samu Costa and Omar Mascarell were started at the base of our central midfield.
The hosts started the better side during the opening exchanges and that resulted in chances for Ilyas and Rondon that tested Lucas Bergstrom.
We responded by creating space outwide for Jan Virgili and Mateo Joseph to attack, but our opportunities were limited to half chances.
Sergi Darder had our best chance of the first half, although Escandell was able to make a routine stop as we headed into the break.
Dendocker and Viñas had early opportunities for the hosts after the restart, although our defence remained sold to ensure the scoreline remained deadlocked.
Arrasate made a number of chances throughout the second half in an attempt to freshen up our attack as Pablo Torre, Takuma Asano and Javi Llabres were among those to enter the frey.
Real Oviedo would end the game with nine men as in the closing stages Santi Carzola and then Vinas were sent off, although there was little time for us to benefit from the numerical advantage as the final whistle went with the game goalless.
