We are thrilled to unveil the creation of the ESA Mallorca Football Park, a new experiential space that brings the stadium to life 365 days a year, dedicated to football. It opened its doors at the beginning of March and is being presented to the media today in the vicinity of the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.
The launch event was attended by Alfonso Díaz, Corporate CEO; Jan Virgili, RCD Mallorca player; and Paco Cobo, coordinator of the Mallorca Football Park.
The ESA Mallorca Football Park (MFP) was created by the Fundació Reial Mallorca, in conjunction with social programmes and other activities, with the aim of becoming the island’s most innovative football centre – an accessible venue for children, young people and adults where technology, fun and a passion for the sport come together in a unique experience officially linked to RCD Mallorca.
The facility features various play stations and sporting challenges designed to test participants’ skills. These include the SPRINT & DRIBBLE LANE, focusing on speed and ball control; ICON, where players must respond quickly and accurately to light signals by passing the ball; KICK POWER, designed to measure the power of a shot; and PRECISION GOAL, a challenge focused on accuracy and precision when striking the ball.
The tour continues with areas designed for play and competition, such as the 3X3 COURT, a smaller court for fast-paced matches where speed, accuracy and teamwork are put to the test; the FOOT-TENNIS COURT, which combines technique, coordination and fun in a unique format; and the BASKETBALL COURT, a dynamic court where participants can test their accuracy and agility.
At the centre of the site lies the CENTRAL PITCH, the heart of the ESA Mallorca Football Park: a multi-purpose pitch designed for small-sided games, challenges and unique sporting experiences. In addition, the MFP features the ROBOT STOPPER, a robotic goalkeeper designed to test players’ ability to dribble past and finish.
Thanks to an exclusive technological system, the MFP will allow participants to measure and compare their technical and physical skills, compete in challenges, access rankings and track their progress over time via its own digital platform. It is not just about playing football, but about experiencing it as a complete, dynamic and gamified experience.
The space is designed for the general public, educational centres, sports clubs and young people seeking new forms of sport-related leisure. Furthermore, the ESA Mallorca Football Park will offer the possibility of organising events, birthday parties and special activities in a modern, innovative setting that is fully integrated into the Mallorca ecosystem.
Jan Virgili
‘It’s very special for me to be part of a project like the Mallorca Football Park. It’s a place where young people and fans can enjoy football in a different way, testing their skills, competing and, above all, having fun. I believe that initiatives like this help bring the club even closer to the people and encourage many boys and girls to keep dreaming about football.’
Alfonso Díaz, CEO of Business
‘The ESA Mallorca Football Park perfectly embodies our vision for the club: to innovate, create new experiences for our fans and open RCD Mallorca up to the community all year round. It is not just a place to play football, but a project that combines technology, entertainment and sport to create a unique experience linked to Mallorca.’
The ESA Mallorca Football Park will be open every day of the week, from Monday to Friday between 4 pm and 9 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm. Access is via the south side of the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, through Gate 8, and offers the convenience of over 2,500 parking spaces right at the entrance.
The project reinforces RCD Mallorca’s commitment to innovation, digitalisation and the creation of new experiences beyond match day, placing the fan at the centre and extending the relationship with the club throughout the week and all year round.
