Vicente Moreno: ‘We’ve been daring but in the final third they have been better’
The manager shared his thoughts with the press after a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid away from home
Vicente Moreno spoke the media following a tough night in the capital as we fell to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Real Madrid. Find out what the boss had to say about the result, our performance and handing the youngest debutant in La Liga history his first appearance below:
On the game...
"We've had a good game and that's what worries me because we’re hurt about not winning the game. Today has been hard for us to keep the scoreline at zero, but that’s not what worries me the most right now. What worries me is that the team, like today, will have left everything there physically and in an attempt to do it.
"There are a lot of differences between the two teams, but on many occasions we've been better. We've taken the ball from them, we were daring, but in the final few metres [of the pitch] they’ve been better.
"I’m sure that if we could be talking about the two actions for both goals for a long time. There's nothing really to say. We would never agree.”
On where the result leaves us...
"The image we gave today is the norm. Players are not machines and finding their best performance is always difficult. This team does things very well and we have good reason to congratulate the players.”
On Luka Romero becoming La Liga’s youngest debutant...
"What you have to try and do is reassure him. He's a 15-year-old boy. The most important thing is that he's there because he deserves to be. Before I walked in, I put my hand on his chest and he was going three thousand miles an hour. He's done very well and he's been very aggressive. If we're give him that stimuli, I'm sure he's going to grow."
