Vicente Moreno: “We respect whoever the opposition is, they also want to go through to the next round”
The boss previewed our opening Copa Del Rey clash with CD El Álamo at Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio
Vicente Moreno says he is looking forward to getting our Copa Del Rey campaign underway this season ahead of our clash with CD El Álamo.
Kicking off the tournament with a trip to Madrid to face the Trecera División side, the boss believes the competition offers rotated players the chance to get further game time.
“I have always liked it, for me it’s a beautiful competition,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “We know the team that we are facing, we know CD El Álamo to the detail. We are going to travel with players from the first team and we are going to give minutes to those who have participated least in the league.
“Playing at stadiums like the Facundo Rivas is not something new for us. We respect whoever the opposition is, they also want to go through to the next round.”
Sevilla’s visit this Sunday to Son Moix will be the final game prior to the winter break in the footballing calendar, but Moreno says his side must go one game at a time and are fully focused on the upcoming fixture at Estadio Facundo Rivas.
“You have to park the league game and concentrate ourselves solely on the cup,” he said. “Every week we are outside the relegation zone is a success. We want much more, but we know that we have to fight and suffer.”
