Vicente Moreno: ‘We have our feet on the ground and want to be consistent’

The boss previewed our clash with Real Betis at his pre-match press conference at Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio

Vicente Moreno says his side will have to be at their best to beat Real Betis ahead of their trip to Son Moix on Saturday evening.

Although unbeaten at home in our last four matches in La Liga, the boss believes Los Verdiblancos improved form of late makes them a dangerous visitor.

“They are a complicated opposition, it’s a team with a lot of factors: quality and history,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “It’s strange to see them in the position they are in but they are on the rise. There are clubs that demand a lot and it’s difficult, but Rubi is a great manager and I’m sure he will be going for more points.

“We know that there are 38 games in a season and we need to have a certain amount of points to save ourselves. Now we have to add points against Real Betis, we have to keep our feet on the ground and we have to be consistent to stay in the division.”

Following a lengthy absence due to injury, new signing Cucho Hernandez has stepped up his return to competitive football this week with full training sessions and Moreno says the striker “is motivated to play and help the team.”
