Pre-season match report: SD Huesca 1-0 RCD Mallorca

Los bermellones suffer their first defeat of pre-season at the Pirámide

Seoane’s first-half penalty saw us fall to a 1-0 defeat at SD Huesca as we suffered our first loss of pre-season at the Pirámide.

Luis García Plaza continued to rotate his side as summer signings Pablo Maffeo and Ángel both started, while Manolo Reina returned as No.1 following a slight muscular issue.

We thought we had got ourselves off to a dream start when the new boys combined, although Maffeo was adjudged to have been offside having poked home Ángel’s cross.

The hosts responded instantly with control of possession which resulted in the game’s only goal in the 20th minute when Aleksandar Sedlar was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Seoane made no mistake from the penalty spot to give SD Huesca the lead.

Victor Mollejo and Ángel would come closest to levelling matters prior to the break, but we ultiamtley headed into the dressing room a goal behind.

Plaza made a number of introductions at the break to give his squad game time which almost paid off when Oliván fired over the bar on the hour mark.

Oliván and Sastre would come close in the dying embers of the game, although an absence of a killer instinct in the final third meant our penultimate game of pre-season ended in defeat.
