Vicente Moreno believes RCD Mallorca’s performance deserved more than a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad at Son Moix.

Martin Ødegaard’s late strike was the difference between the two sides but the Los Bermellones’ manager was pleased with the effort his team put in.

“The interpretation of the game is negativeL we wanted to add three points but we have been unable to add a single one,” he said at the post-match press conference. “The team left everything on the pitch. In the end, the game was decided by an error of ours.

"If every detail is not cared for and you are not doing things right, you can concede a goal. We had opportunities to score a goal, but they had the quality and that decided the game. We had Lumor hit the post and that could have changed the game.”

RCD Mallorca will now have to re-focus ahead of their trip to Valencia CF in a week’s time in what will be their first away game of the season.

“We are a strong team at home and we deserved to take a point but you can’t live on what you deserve,” he added. “Now we have difficult game ahead of us and we will prepare for it will all we have.”
