Match Report: RCD Mallorca 0-1 FC Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski’s first-half goal is the difference at the Visit Mallorca Estadi

Robert Lewandowski’s first-half strike was the difference as we fell to a 1-0 defeat against FC Barcelona at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.

Despite there being little between the two sides during the opening exchanges as chances were few and far between, the visitors took the lead when the Polish striker made space for himself in the box and found the back of the net in the 21st minute.

We almost had an instant response just minutes later when Jaume Costa knocked the ball down for Antonio Sanchez, although Marc-André ter Stegen made a smart stop as we headed into the break level.

Aguirre looked to get our wideman further forward in an attempt to supply greater service to Vedat Muriqi in attack, but the visitors’ defence remained resolute as we looked to take our game up a gear.

Kang-In Lee had a late chance to level matters on the counter of an earlier Sergi Roberto opportunity, but our forward’s strike just went wide of the far post by a matter of inches as we fell to defeat.
