Match Report: Poblense 1-0 RCD Mallorca B

A goal in the last minute of the first half, gives Poblense an advantage in the playoffs

We were unlucky to fall to a 1-0 defeat against Poblense in the first-leg of our play-off fixture.

After a frenetic start, our reserve side managed to get a few shots away and work the home goalkeeper but were unfortunate not to find the back of the net.

Despite our early chances, opportunities were few and far between as the game progressed with neither side able to get a sight at goal.

We would go into the break a goal down as Alex Quevedo did well to block an initial attempt before Jaume Vidal followed up and poked home.

We looked to provide an immediate response after the restart but remained frustrated by the hosts.

Assistant manager Xisco Campos was shown a red card for protesting a decision as we succumbed to defeat with the second leg to be played at the Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio.

Gustavo Siviero

“It was a very even match in which Poblense made the difference in a play that was smarter. They went for the rebound on two occasions. We weren't as lucid as we wanted to be in attack. We came here with the intention of getting a good result, we didn't achieve it and we will have to get it in the second leg.”

Miguelito

“We tried. In a specific action they had a goal when the ball was left inside the area and they put it in. We are going to go all out in the second leg to see if we can go through, which is our intention.

“The game in Manacor, away from home, was the same result and then there we went all out and came back. We're going to go all out and with the whole team to get the goal."
