Luis García Plaza: ‘We’ve enjoyed tonight with the fans’

The boss spoke to the media after 2-0 win over AD Alcorcón as supporters returned to Visit Mallorca Estadi

Luis García Plaza was in a buoyant mood as fans returned to the stadium for the first time in over a year. We marked the homecoming of fans with a 2-0 win over AD Alcorcón courtesy of goals from Abdón Prats and Salva Sevilla to leave us requiring just one point to secure promotion. Find out what the boss had to say from an unforgettable night below:

On the match...

"After two defeats we have taken seven points out of a possible nine and there is a lot of emotional charge in each game. We played a very tactical first half as they had the ball, but without creating danger for us. In the second half we were very good. We have 75 points - that's crazy. With one more point, we'll be in LaLiga and we'll celebrate when we get there.”

On the possible promotion...

"I want to go up, I don't care when. I don't care if it's on Tuesday, Wednesday or next Monday against Zaragoza - and if not, on the last matchday. I don't care, as long as we go up. We'll celebrate just the same, although if we have to play on Wednesday, we'll celebrate less.”

On the return of fans to the Visit Mallorca Estadi...

"They have been cheering the whole game and it has been very nice. People have enjoyed things with the team and the truth is that we were also looking forward to it. They have set the bar very high. I hope that this communion continues more often and in greater numbers.”

"It was the first time I had to shout a lot to be heard on the other side of the pitch. It was very emotional and hopefully the public will come back soon all over Spain."

On the absences and Lago's opportunity...

"Raíllo has been feverish all night. It was the doubt I was referring to the other day and although I thought he would arrive on time, he didn't. Now he has to rest. In the case of Ruíz De Galarreta, he was coming in off an injury and wasn't ready to play 90 minutes. I wanted to reward Lago Junior for his game and goal the other day. I like to take advantage of these positive dynamics, especially with the people up top.”
