Luis García Plaza: ‘We’re going to continue like this and my mind is already on Real Zaragoza’

The manager reflected on our 3-1 win over Málaga CF in his post-match press conference

Luis García Plaza was on fine form in his post-match press conference as he analysed our 3-1 win over Málaga CF at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. With Amath Ndiaye, Antonio Raillo and Dani Rodríguez on target, the boss reflected on an impressive performance.

On the game...

“We’ve had three good games. The difference today has been that first chance we created, we put it away. With teams that set up with a high defensive line, Amath gives us a lot. We have again scored from a set-piece and the lads believe in it. The goal has not been a clear occasion and that is what has annoyed Manolo most. The important thing is that we won. We will continue like this and my mind is already on Zaragoza. They come from having not won and will be motivated. We cannot lower our arms because there will be a high-level of pressure."

On form...

“In the first three games of the season, we didn’t create chances. From there on, yes we have. We must continue like this and remain equally strong in defence. The important thing is how we felt and that the goal conceded does not take away the hard work up until this point. You have to try and continue good spells and if you can’t win, try not to lose."

On playing style...

“Football is focused on three concepts: attack, defence and set-pieces. All three are very important. That needs to be worked on and we have people who are very good at it here. We will continue to take advantage of that."

On Real Zaragoza...

“It is up to us to recover and think of Real Zaragoza as there’s little time before the match. I will make more changes and hope the players who come in will keep spark going in the team. The important thing is wins and feelings. The team is convinced by how we play. We have 18 points in nine days and that’s very good."

On Dani Rodríguez...

“Dani is a guy who can run more than 90 minutes and gives us a lot in midfield. It's nice to work with a player like him. I hope that he continues like that, and if he plays against Real Zaragoza, that he scores again."

On defence...

“We have together the best defensive quartet in the division. I’m not saying they won't change, but they're all concentrated because sooner or later they will all play.”
