José Copete: “We go into this game excited and wanting to make our fans happy”

The defender spoke to club media ahead of our clash with UD Almería

José Copete says he and his team-mates are looking to give our fans something to shout about ahead of our clash with UD Almería on Saturday.

This weekend’s visitors have yet to win away from home while we are still in search of our first win at the Visit Mallorca Estadi, although our centre back believes we are in the right frame of mind to put an end to our winless streak.

"The team is working well,” he told club media. “We face this new match with a lot of enthusiasm and with the desire to give our fans something to cheer about at our ground.

“UD Almería is a great team that is in the LaLiga thanks to their hard work with great players, and we are sure they will make things difficult for us. We will try to do our best to get our first three points at home.

"It is a double-edged sword, because in the end they will want to look for their first victory away from home and they will come with everything. I think all the matches will be difficult, and we have to compete to our best.”

Our new signing joined this summer on a free transfer and has made the step up to La Liga for the first time in his career.

"I think I've tried to adapt in the best possible way. Obviously, there is a jump in quality and intensity that is noticeable, but I have tried to learn quickly from my teammates and work hard on a day-to-day basis.

“I think in the games where I've been able to help the team, I've done the best I could."
