Match Report: RCD Mallorca 1-1 Valencia CF

Dani Rodríguez and Diego Lòpez are on target as the points are shared

Dani Rodríguez’s early strike was cancelled out by Diego Lòpez’s goal as we shared the points in a 1-1 draw with Valencia CF.

Javier Aguirre continued with Gio González at right back, while Toni Lato started on the other flank against his former side.

Dani Rodríguez got us off to a dream start when our midfielder ghosted in at the back post to fire home Antonio Sánchez’s cross which Valencia had failed to deal with in the fifth minute.

Pepelu rattled the woodwork with a long-range free-kick in response, while Abdòn Prats came closest to us doubling our lead when he dragged his shot wide of the post.

Diego Lòpez got the visitors level in the injury time of the first half when he climbed highest to loop a header of Predrag Rajkovic.

We started the second half the stronger side and almost got ourselves back in front in the 55th minute when Vedat Muriqi forced a good save with a diving header.

Antonio Sánchez hit the post when he raced into the box on the hour mark, before Dani Rodríguez forced another good save three minutes later.

Amath would come closest to finding a late winner, although we had to settle for a point come full time.
