Match Report: RCD Mallorca 0-0 CA Osasuna

We were held to a goalless stalemate and finished the match with 10 men

We were held to a goalless draw against CA Osasuna despite finishing the match with 10 men after Jose Copete’s red card as we look to mathematically secure our place in LaLiga for next season.

We almost got off to a dream start when Kang-In Lee’s whipped free-kick went inches over the bar.

Pablo Maffeo was next to try his luck as our right back drifted into the box, latched onto Dani Rodríguez’s cross and fired over the bar.

The early chances were the only highlights of a highly competitive first half as we headed into the break level.

Dani Rodríguez then had one of our best chances of the game as our midfielder found space to drag an effort just wide of the post in the 58th minute.

Our challenge would be made all the more difficult just 10 minutes later as we were reduced to 10 men following Jose Copete’s dismissal.

Predrag Rajkovic was called into action on two occasions in the final 10 minutes as the visitors searched for a late winner, but we resisted various attacks and ensured that the points were shared.
