Vicente Moreno: ‘We’re going to give our all to have a chance of staying up’

The manager looked ahead to our clash with Sevilla FC as we enter the first of our three remaining games of the campaign

Vicente Moreno has analysed our chances of survival ahead of a trip to Sevilla CF this Sunday evening as we enter the final three remaining games of the season.

Heading into the fixture on the back of a 2-0 victory over Levante UD and with just two points separating us from safety, the boss believes the objective is yet to change for his side.

“We're still in the same position and behind other teams,” he told journalists at his pre-match press conference. “We continue to depend on winning our matches and waiting for the rest of the teams not to get anything out of their remaining games. That’s the situation we’re in, and while it's a little better than it was a few days ago, it's still difficult.

"We're going to have to do a lot of things right to have a chance. That's what we're looking for, to finish tomorrow's game and see that we still have a chance. We’re used to living in a situation with the need to win. That's what we've been doing for the last few seasons. We’re prepared to perform under these circumstances.”

Sevilla FC remain in competition for a four spot having had an impressive season, and Moreno believes a strong defensive performance could hold the key to getting anything out of the game.

"Keeping a clean sheet gives you a lot of options to add points, but it's not easy," he continued. "Now we go to a place that’s not easy, against a team that’s playing to enter the Champions League. We have to go for the three points. I have full confidence in the team, we’ll give everything to reach that last day with a real chance of achieving our goal."
