Dani Rodríguez: "Life can be amazing"

Dani Rodríguez said he is living the dream having opened the scoring of RCD Mallorca's return to La Liga against SD Eibar.

The winger opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a composed finish and was clearly still overjoyed when describing his strike to the assembled press.

“Life can be amazing,” Dani Rodríguez said during the post-match press conference. “I’m happy having made my debut in La Liga and for getting a goal too. I ran like a madman with a pack of defenders pursing me - scoring was a great moment for me.

“I didn’t know they were looking at the VAR at the time of scoring, but I never doubted it. I said to myself at the moment I knew they were checking it: ‘please don’t rule it out!’”

The victory was hard fought for Los Bermellones at San Moix and only Paulo Oliveria’s was the difference between the two sides after the defender had equalised following the break - leaving Dani Rodríguez under no illusion of the challenges that lie ahead.

“The team knows how to suffer and it’s something we are going to get,” the winger continued. “All the teams in this division have quality and they will make us suffer, however we have demonstrated that we are prepared to do this.

“The good things and the bad things are present in football, and we know where we are - we are on an upwards trajectory from last year.”
